Jackson Hole, WY Ski Trip 2023
The 2023 Crescent Ski Council Jackson Hole Ski trip was “magical” according to my daughter Becca. I’m not sure about magical but it was pretty darn good. Everything from the skiing, to the perfect weather, to the wildlife, camaraderie of our Crescent friends and the “cowboy” feeling of the town was about as good as it gets on a ski trip. Even though it was a ski trip, there was a lot to do off the slopes. My wife and I were lucky enough to have all of our kids and grandkids with us on this trip so I guess it was magical in a way for us. We enjoyed a sleigh ride thru the Elk Refuge in Jackson which I highly recommend if you are out there in the winter when the herds come down from the mountains. There were ~4,000 elk in the refuge the day we toured, and it was a beautiful sight. While our kids took a snowmobile ride thru the national part, we “took a day off” and enjoyed hanging with our 4 grandkids (thank goodness there was a cleaning service we could call in at the end of the day).
A momma Moose and her calf decided to visit us at the parking lot near the entrance to the Teton Lodge where we stayed. They hung around there most of day posing for pics and were spotted near the base of the ski slopes the next day which was pretty cool thing to witness. The weather was spot on for us all week with temps in the 20’s and some sun with a few days/nights of light snow. Of course, a trip to Jackson isn’t complete without visiting the Antler Arch entrances to the town square, that’s a lot of antlers, and to the Million-Dollar cowboy bar. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend Jackson Hole be put on your bucket list especially if you can do it with family and friends.
