This was a good weekend for us with most of the ETMM racers on the podium or scoring good points, thus helping us to jump into 3rd place overall, only 5 points out of 1st place for the season.

We will attempt to continue the upward trend at the next race.

Oh the Joy of a wonderful ski vacation to beautiful Aspen, CO! Now I know why the rich and famous like to hang in Aspen and John Denver sang songs of Rocky Mountain high!

During Crescent ski week 207 members traveled to Snowmass/Aspen to stay slope-side at Snowmass mountain. With four outstanding mountains to ski and snowboard upon, it is a huge playground for us "snow people". For those of you who don't know, the mountains are: Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain, and Aspen Highlands. And I must say when they say Highlands, they mean it!

During our stay, we got to enjoy the pomp of the X-games being hosted at Buttermilk mountain. What an endeavor to build and develop the X-game half-pipe, snowmobile jumps, and other courses in addition to staging, etc. It was very impressive! Some of us did travel over to watch the athletes practice with amazement. How anyone is brave enough to risk life and limb to perform their feats I will never understand.

Additionally, mother nature smiled upon us as we had relatively warm weather and plenty of Sunshine!  Conditions even though dry, were great! It's so nice to play when body parts aren't getting frozen. Of course we all had a blast traveling down into Aspen to check out the local scene and restaurants. Aspen had some interesting, historical venues of the old West intermixed with recent architecture, and was most beautifully decorated with thousands of lights in the trees giving the town quite a glow!

As for the council events, ETMM came out on top with the "Fun Race" with Beth Dison and Scott Arnold taking first place women/men, and Lisa Beregi taking second. For the "Poker Run" interestingly, Scott won a prize for the worst hand, Leading him to be a full spectrum winner/loser=Winner all in one night! Besides these events, we had a wonderful wine and cheese party and the ultimately fun Farewell dinner/dance where we all got to show our snazzy movements.

For those of you who couldn't make it with us on the trip, we missed you and hope that you can join us on our next Adventure!

On Friday, November 20th, ETMM had their Season Kick-off Party to jump-start the on-coming Ski and Downhill race Season. Another fun gathering occurred at the Mabry home with plenty of food and beverages to be shared. Thank you Mark and Lisa! To all who missed the party, we missed you! Start getting out "the boards" and get them tuned-up to play soon on the slopes! And for those wishing to challenge their ability in "the gates" or know of someone who may want to join the Race team come on! We need to have good participation to bring the trophies back to East TN!

The first week of December we had 6 members enjoy the Steamboat Trip. When asked about the trip, the participants had all smiles plus good wishes for Pam's quick healing!
